Xin Yang Mao Jian Tea

Xin Yang Mao Jian Tea is one of the
10 Most Famous Chinese Teas
. It is a wonderful Green Tea that has a history of over 2,000 years and was mentioned in the famous book; "The Class of Tea" written by Lu Yu during the Tang Dynasty (618-907). The tea also won a gold medal from the Panama Pacific International Exposition, held in San Francisco in 1914.
The tea's name has many English translations including Xin Yang Fur Point, Xin Yang Hairy Point, Xin Yang Hairy Needle, and Xin Yang Fur Needle.
This Green Tea has a slight grassy fragrance with a sweet aroma that leaves a wonderful long lasting aftertaste in your mouth.
The tea is produced near Dabie Mountain in Xinyang County in China's Henan Province. The tea is harvested from the spring, through the fall, but the best tea comes from the early spring harvests. The tea farmers look for a bud with a single newly formed leaf when picking the tea. It takes about 50,000 of them to make 500 grams of processed tea.
Legend
According to legend, this tea came from the heavens and nine fairies brought the tea down to earth to bestow on the human race. It is said that when you brew the tea you will see the image of nine fairies dancing in the steam.
