Blue and White Porcelain Bird and Lotus Flower Lidded Teacup
This is a delicate and extremely well designed blue and white porcelain teacup. It was hand crafted in Jingdezhen, in China Jiangxi Province. Jingdezhen has been China's premiere porcelain manufacturing center for centuries. This cup features a design of lotus flowers with a bird diving into the water to catch a fish. It was hand painted with cobalt blue glaze and is a very traditional design. The cup has four parts; the lid, the strainer basket, the cup, and the saucer. Tea leaves can be put in the strainer basket and hot water poured in and the lid placed on the top of the cup. When the tea is ready, the lid can be placed upside down on a table and the strainer will sit in it until you are ready to brew your next cup.
