2007 Dayi "Hong Zhuang" Ripe Puer Tea Cake 400grams
This 2007 Dayi "Hong Zhuang" Ripe Puer Tea was the first production of this outstanding tea. It was also produced in 2008, but the 2007 is known as the better of the two. Moderately fermented, this tea has a mellow taste and aroma. The tea's name "Hong Zhuang" means red adornments. Its name comes from a poem written by Chairman Mao in 1936. Two lines from the poem are printed on the wrapper.
The lines from the poem translated:
Each day, the land (China)
clad in white with red adornments
grows more enchanting.
The land is so rich in beauty
that it has made countless heroes
bow in homage.
