Junshan Yinzhen Tea

Grown in Hunan Province’s Junshan Island, Junshan Yinzhen is a very famous Yellow Tea. Its name translates as Gentleman Mountain Silver Needle Tea. This tea is often confused with Bai Hao Yinzhen (Silver Needle), which is a White Tea which is also called Silver Needle, but it is a different variety. The name comes for the processed leaves which look like small needles. The tea is grown on mist covered Jun Mountain (Junshan)and it is the high altitude and humid environment that gives this tea its unique flavor. The tea is picked in the early spring and is known for its wonderful delicate flavor and aroma. It is rumored that this tea was the favorite tea of Chairman Mao Zedong.
