About Us

I created this page to let you know a little more about us. I have a passion for Chinese Tea. It is one of the most important aspects of my life and one I could not do without. No matter where I go, or what I am doing, you can bet there is a pot of Chinese Tea brewing nearby. I love not only the beverage itself, but the culture and history surrounding it. Chinese-Tea-Culture.com is owned and operated by me, Scott

Scott

I moved to beautiful Guilin in 2004 and have never left. In fact I have bought a home here, got married to a Chinese girl and have a gorgeous baby girl.

The lack of information and tea available in the West has always driven me crazy. Therefore I decided to open this website to create a place where people can find current and accurate information. It is a labor of love more than anything. I will cover; Chinese Tea Culture, Chinese Tea History, Types of Chinese Tea, including Green Tea, Oolong Tea and White Tea, Chinese Tea Production Areas, Tea Health, Tea Ware, and much more.

I have also opened a Tea Shop offering the very finest in Tea, Teapots, Tea cups, and Tea tools. Living in China, I have access to the finest porcelain artisans, Yixing Teapot craftsman, and finest tea producers in China. I am in a unique position in China. Because I am not Chinese, yet speak Chinese fluently, have a knowledge of Chinese Tea, Tea History, Tea Culture, and live in China, most Chinese involved in tea production really like me and offer me tea at prices that even locals cannot get. It also allows us to offer the finest products prices on one of a kind, hand crafted items.

Every item I have for sale is hand picked at the workshops where they were produced. I am not at the mercy of suppliers and shippers. If I don't like an item, or it doesn't meet the level of quality that I insist upon, I don't purchase it. Every item I offer is hand crafted one at a time. I am not interested in mass produced items. They lack the feeling of a hand crafted piece. If I am not absolutely enchanted by a piece, I do not offer it. It is that simple.

If you have any questions about Chinese Tea, our products, or simply want to chat, feel free to contact us. I'd love to hear from you. As I have mentioned, I love Chinese Tea and love to talk about it with others.
